Jon Ross

As Director of Research and Evaluation for TASC and its Center for Health and Justice (CHJ), Jon Ross leads internal and external research and consulting/training initiatives - nationally and in Illinois - that advance knowledge regarding evidence-based practice.

Dr. Ross is director of a National Training and Technical Assistance (TA) Center devoted to helping 100+ corrections and community-based grantees build and execute successful collaborative reentry programs through the Department of Justice's National Second Chance Act TA Center - in partnership with New York University. The Fletcher Group, and The Urban Institute. He heads and has headed CHJ's work in national research efforts in projects tied to the Justice Community Opioid Innovation Network (JCOIN), National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA), National Institute of Justice (NIJ), with partners including Texas Christian University, Loyola University Chicago, RAND, the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority and others.  

Jon has a long career in communications and public policy/public affairs, with a wide range of positions and assignments across healthcare, government, nonprofits, advocacy organizations, and professional service organizations. He also has taught in multiple graduate programs. He earned his BA in Political Science from the University of Florida, his MA in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University, and his PhD in Public Policy from Union Institute & University.
