Mundelein Police Department Selected as National Mentor Site for Opioid Abuse Training

Village of Mundelein | Mudelein, IL (1/2020)

The U.S. Department of Justice and Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities (TASC) has selected the Mundelein Police Department as a Law Enforcement/First Responder Diversion National Mentor Site under the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s (BJA) Comprehensive Opioid Abuse Program (COAP).

Under this program, the Department of Justice will pay for and send executives from various police departments across the United States to visit Mundelein. The visiting departments will view firsthand various programs including “A Way Out.” The participants will then begin creating similar programs in their own cities and Mundelein will serve as a mentor during that process.
