From the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services:
Observed annually each September, Recovery Month promotes the societal benefits of treatment for substance use and mental disorders, celebrates people in recovery, lauds the contributions of treatment providers, and promotes the message that recovery in all its forms is possible.
This year’s theme, “Join the Voices for Recovery: Recovery Benefits Everyone,” emphasizes provisions within the Affordable Care Act and Mental Health Parity and Addictions Equity Act (MHPAEA) aimed to improve physical and emotional health while ensuring people will receive the care they need at a more reasonable cost.
TASC has been a National Recovery Month planning partner since 1999.
